The challenge
The technical challenges involved in this project were entirely new, and a fresh, creative approach was required. Because the work formed part of a developing concept, the bar was set high during both the preparations and the execution of the underwater welding.
At the same time, every component had to strictly comply with the applicable requirements and guidelines for underwater welding. This made it essential to adopt a meticulous and precisely coordinated working method.
Solution and preparations
We examined the specified requirements in detail and developed the welding methods needed to meet all the certification criteria. Our divers produced test pieces using these methods, under strict supervision and in full accordance with the prescribed procedure.
The auditor collected these pieces for extensive testing to determine whether they met all the standards. Thanks to this structured approach, we were able to contribute to the reliable and safe further development of the anchoring concept.
