Diving is just like running a business: you take the plunge and set your sights on what you want to achieve, full of curiosity and ambition. Sometimes you let yourself get carried along by the current, and sometimes you swim against it. Because, as Marco says: “QCEAS was built from the ground up. Using our own resources and sheer determination, because in the diving world, nothing comes easily.”

Marco’s entrepreneurial journey began in 1989, when he became a professional diver. “I opted for self-employment almost straight away and soon discovered that I had natural leadership skills. After owning another diving company for several years that specialised in civil engineering works, I decided to found Qceas in 2010. I set my sights on maritime projects.”

Growth came quickly, explains Marco: “With QCEAS, we quickly gained access to territorial waters, invested in equipment and had a diving container built. The first major salvage jobs followed in 2016. That was a defining year, just like 2023 when we acquired Glomar Subsea. This expansion brought specialised tools and additional personnel, opening up entirely new underwater worlds. Opportunities like these come your way, and you have to seize them if you want to take the company to greater depths and push the boundaries.”
